LEVEL 2 – Intensive Workshops in Kristiansand, Norway 20th – 22nd October, 2017

$300.00 AUD

Pointe Intensive – Friday 20th October

Progressing onto pointe is a big step for many young, aspiring ballet dancers, signifying a leap into the more professional world of ballet. In saying this, pointe work can be tricky for some feet. While some may find it hard to fully rise over the block of the shoe, others may be dealing with excessive mobility within the major joints of the foot and find that they have very little control over their ankles. Since every dancer is different, the journey onto pointe is going to differ for every dancer.

Flexibility Intensive – Saturday 21st October

The body of research & development around the art of flexibility – especially the fascial system and its effect on our mobility continues to grow. Every dancer isn’t born with 180 degree turnout, flat splits in second position and développés to their ears. However there is no reason why these dancers should feel inadequate and left behind. This workshop teaches how to properly (by which we mean safely) achieve maximum flexibility in your students. Help your students to see their flexibility goals become a reality.

Training Turnout in Tiny Dancers – Sunday 22nd October

Many teachers struggle with hip pain and injuries in their adolescent dancers, but few realise how much of this stems from the training that children had in their early years. This course delves into the delicate art of training turnout in tiny dancers, through to adolescents. It begins by establishing strength and control in parallel, before adding on the control of rotation, which is hugely important in the long term health of dancers’ hips. Using elements of fun and creative play to bring scientific and detailed training programs into dance schools is a unique and effective way to help thousands of young students worldwide
