Rebecca Wendlandt - Dance Teacher
I studied ballet for 10 years until I was 15 years old. I took 10 years off and studied ballroom, latin, and swing social dance. I came back to ballet a little over 10 years ago and fell in love with it all over again. I continue to study ballet as an adult student. At the start of 2020, I began teaching a beginning adult ballet class at Applegate Dance Studio as well as substitute teaching for the pre-pointe classes. I also am passionate about physical fitness. In 2019, I got my certification through the International Ballet Barre Fitness Association to teach barre exercise. I teach several barre classes a week at Applegate Dance Studio and a local gym.
I loved every minute of the workshop! I learned so much about how to train safely, effectively, and efficiently while achieving maximal fine and detailed control of the movements of the body. I am continuing to work on integrating what I have learned in the workshop into my classes. So far, I have mixed in pelvic tilts, 6-dimensional breathing, the adult crawling series, dynamic mobilizers, foot strengthening exercises, detailed tendu instruction, and discussions of flexibility into my classes. I am so excited to bring more of what I have learned into future classes!
